A pillar cross section

I was wondering if the A pillar on later than 64-6 trucks were the same cross section as on the 64-66 trucks.

My Carryall has so much rust around the windshield and cab area that I want to replace the pillars and upper windshield track (as well as the front of the roof- inner and outer.)

I'm looking for options as I cant find any 64-66 cabs around here (Ontario Cali)

Any suggestions are as usual greatly appreciated.

Re: A pillar cross section

No sorry the '67-'72's are different. However you could probably use part of the front roof section from a '60-'63 pickup. There is a thread here with a guy building a '65(?) Blazer and he had to replace his front roof section. He got the section from a pickup and apparently the pickups are slightly different than the Burbs and panels. He made it work, but it required some rework.

Re: A pillar cross section

Thank you for responding- I read that thread on the blazer before I even bought the rustbucket that needs similar treatment- it's what made me think I could actually get away with doing something similar.

I'm still keeping an eye out for a butchered cab as I'd HATE to cut up a decent one.

Using the upper windshield/roof of an earlier cab is a marvelous suggestion- Thank you again!- that expands my options considerably.

Re: A pillar cross section

No problem. Let us know how it works out for you.

Edit: I just read in the thread by chevyguys that he has a free cab that might be good for roof parts.
