Newbie....
Hello all!...Just thought I would introduce myself, mostly introduce my lady friend... Im Ashleigh from Baltimore MD.. Ive been searching and searching for a sweet little pickup to call my own since I was a freshman in college...Two weeks after graduation I found her only a few miles from home...A 62' gmc pickup long bed fleetside with a 305 V6...I Instantly fell in love and had to bring her home...so for the past few months ive been able to get my hands on her two days a week and shes slowly comming together....

Re: Newbie....
Nice truck Ashleigh. Those 305 V6s are stought engines. My dad had a truck exactly like it a long time ago and I always loved it.

Re: Newbie....
Hello newbie.nice truck.I had a 62 before it got totaled in a accident.I put a front end from a 80's model truck under mine when I found out how much parts were fore the old torsion bar set up was.go to junk yard and take the whole front crosmember with everything attached,a frames ball joints, disk breaks and brake booster and steering box.it will all fit on your truck.their will be about 6 bolts that will line up the crossmember then weld the rest in.sounds like a lot of work but really not that bad.it will ride so much better and no knocks and sqeeks.parts are very cheep for 80 model front end stuff and easy to find.if you got any questions I will be more than happy to answer them.

Re: Newbie....
thanks 66...helpful info!...im not planning on doing a crazy custom...the most radical thing will eventually be bags. then just the normal basic upgrades...mainly disc breaks...it takes all of my 110 lbs to stop the beast now...not sure about power steering...it would be nice...but not nessesary...im getting slack form the boyfriend to swap out for a 350...but i like her the was she is...haha...so im basicly keeping her pretty stock besides the suspension...it needs to be brought down to earth...needs to be!...lol..as of now im just doing body work...getting rid of rusted spots before they take over the truck...gonna paint her flat black with green accents...rat rod style...and thanks for all of the warm welcomes!!!
