Inline 6 camshaft

What type of camshaft is in a factory six? It's a hydrolic one right?

You're right. The 230/250 gm engines are all hydraulic lifters. A mchanical cam was in the 235/261 gm engines up to 1963. There was also a hydraulic cam available for these engines as well.

If you're replacing the cam you might want to check with Cliffords performance. They do 6 cyl perfomance and can prolly hook you up with a little more performance if that's a factor.

PanelDeland: I would like to boost the power in my six but would a performance cam "get along" with my factory engine?
Is the brand "wolverine" any good, b/c that is what autozone has for my factory application, are they worth it?
thanks again all.
