Attention: Boss 338's Inside

Thanks to lolife99 for the thread (http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=352320) that made me pull the trigger! I have the LD rotors and the wheels fit fine. The truck is an '84 w/ 3" DJM spindles and 2" shackles (though I now see I am in desperate need of another 2" from the hangers I have). The wheels are Boss 338, 18X8. Tires are Falken 255/55/18. I love the look! This was a major step for me today! Paint and body are next on the list and could very possibly be done next month. Hope y'all like it!

Way to go!!!!! Drop the back like you said and I love it. 18" wheels really work very well on our trucks. What are you going to do paint wise?

Looks awesome man. If they are new production 338's then they fixed the clearance problems. I know they were supposed to be out just anytime. I like the look of the 18's on there. Like Gerald asked what are your plans for the rest of the truck?

Re: Attention: Boss 338's Inside

Thanks guys! As far as paint, I am pretty sure I am going to back to the stock white. I like white and I think it will look good with the wheels. As far as the rest of the truck, I want to get a sport bumper, do the interior (again), replace the front and back glass, replace the light lenses, remove the lower molding, add chrome wheel arch molding, swap rear diff to 3:73 posi. There are some other little things I'm sure I'm missing. I put in a vortec-headed 350 earlier this year, but I want to get someone who knows what they're doing to go over it and see if they can get a little more out of it. I'm having fun with this truck though!

Looks great! Just a few more inches (isn't that what we hear all the time!). Really like the wheels.

The light duty rotors allowed these wheels to fit. Nothing else.
As far as I know,... the new designed wheels aren't out yet.

harnalien,... your truck looks sweet!
What backspacing did you get on those 18x8's?

I got the standard 18x8 and they show to have 4.517" of backspace. To think, the only way I knew I had LD rotors was because I was originally sent a set of HD spindles and did not find out they were wrong until I did all the work to get them on! I guess that was a blessing in disguise!

Sounds like a real nice plan for the truck. The white does, and will look really good with those wheels.

LoLife thanks for the clarification. I knew they were working on it, just wasn't sure on the time of arrival.

Love the new shoes harnalien!

Just bring that rear down a little more and you'll be set.

The more I look at the pic the more I like the rake to it. I do think the rear needs to come down a bit, but if it were me I would cut a little off the front coil to bring the front down just a bit more too.

I can't go any lower in the front because there is already a minor rubbing issue on hard bumps. I hope to have the rear lowered soon. I just need some help getting the rivets out for the hangers. I will be starting a build thread soon. I've already replaced the engine and done the interior. Now I have wheels. The next big thing is paint, so I will start a build thread after that. Thanks for all the comments!

Re: Attention: Boss 338's Inside

Go ahead and start a build thread now. Show us the engine and tranny, then you can keep us updated on the paint & body.
