Re: 502 ramjet pics
I don't think I've seen any here. Have only seen a few at the local car shows and usually in high dollar builds like shoeboxes. I think I saw one in an older (50s) red 4x4 panel recently. Awesome looking engine. Try the general forum, will have better luck.

Re: 502 ramjet pics
Hey Guys,
I stumbled across this thread and figured I'd join the forum. Here are a few shots of the Ramjet 502 and 4L85 going in my '72 Sierra Grande. The original 402 was developing problems so it's on an engine stand now. I'm using Doug's headers and a Be-Cool (part number: 82058) radiator kit. The work is being done by Ken Webber of Webber Engineering. Looking forward to seeing what this 502 has got! I'd love to see photos of other guys' installations. Muddy

Re: 502 ramjet pics
I'm looking forward to hear what that 502 got aswell . I hope it lives up to the hype. I hope its not pretty mild because of the fuel injection. It looks great. I keep kickin around the idea of fuel injection.

Wow! that looks mean and nasty. For those of you who know, remember that Oklahoma Farm Truck (The one with the dog) has a 502 in it.

Re: 502 ramjet pics
Well i can see you got some serious metal working skills! I love that engine compartment. Very clean. I'd still like to know what you guys think of the engine itself. A few mechanics that ive talked to think that for a 502 it should have more get up and go. i'm hoping their 502 ramjet was just setup wrong.

Re: 502 ramjet pics
Yes it is a truck, no it is not one I am doing nor is it one Ron Covell (guy with his head under the hood) is doing and it is not a re-worked grill The shop building the truck thinks the 502's are just plain ugly and really tried to talk the guy out of it and into an LSX style motor with out luck.

Talk about a sleeper! What are your thoughts on the performance?

Re: 502 ramjet pics
Oh, we'll have to see on that. I'm not getting it back from the engine guy for another week. But, with a 3.20 first gear and 4.10 rear, plus the injection, it should be plenty quick stoplight to stoplight at least. Anyway, rated power is one thing, net is another, and whether the truck would hook up at all with the 235 section generic tires and stiff 3/4 rear leafs...well, it's unlikely it would.

Re: 502 ramjet pics
Do a little suspension work and put some fat rear tires on the back of it and you and Oklahoma farm truck should go out for a race!

Re: 502 ramjet pics
Haha, I don't know why I put "my Oklahoma farm truck." If you haven't seen it go to youtube and type in oklahome farm truck in the search. Guy is running mid 10's with a 502. He has a camper shell on the back and everything but the fat rear tires say sleeper. Thanks for the comments on my build as well.
