Question 1972 Chevrolet C10 Rim and Tire Suggestions

Hi All,

I am new to this board, but any help would be much appreciated.

I just bout a '72 C10 and am looking into some new rims.

I was suggested to get 15X8 rims, but just wondering if this is the correct way to go. I was looking at some 15X8 Crager Super Spoke Rims on Jegs because they are fairly cheap and I like the pattern.

I have 5X5 1/2 Bolt pattern, and it looks like the rear spacing on these are 3 3/4.

I might drop the truck at some point in time, but it probably will not be for awhile. I do not want it to look like a Low Rider, but more of a hot rod type look. I am pretty sure it is stock at this point.

Any help on tires would be appreciated too. I used to have a '68 Nova, but that was about 10 yrs ago, so I am just getting back into this.

I'll post pics soon.

Re: 1972 Chevrolet C10 Rim and Tire Suggestions

First off, your truck should have a 5x5" bolt pattern. If your truck is stock height, I would recommend a 255/70/15 tire. I'm personally a big fan of the BFG T/A Radial tires, but you could shop around and see if there's anything you like better. Alot of guys, including my self for now, run 275/60/15 tires. I really just like a tire that fills the fender better.

The Cragar SS wheels are good looking wheels with a timless look. Their only downside is they're chromed steel and will tend to rust and flake over time, especially if not taken care of properly. Another popular wheel is the American Racing Torque Thrust II.
