How bout a wrap?

What is the cost to do one of those wraps? I've seen several vehicles with them, and always wondered what they cost.

After prep and install, its almost as much as a paint job depending on what you get.

Yea, with art time included it would be up around the $2500 mark, you could easily spend that on a basic paint job, but a paint job that looks like a WWII bomber? That would be way more, all I've got is material cost in it, and my own time in designing it, so it worked out better for me.

It's a lot of fun designing wraps, logos, etc. Most customers give us creative freedom when it comes to wraps, and they're happy with the craziness that insues, lol!

You take care of it as you would paint, and you can wax it if you wanted, just not with a compound wax, and NO automatic car washes.

Thanks for the complements, it gets alot of looks, wasn't sure about it at first but I'll run it like this for a while.

those mirrors are 88- style. how did you mount them?

britnjc-Made brackets for the mirrors similar to the stock ones, drilled the holes and just bolted them on, not too difficult.

Tony_SS- The vehicle wrap vinyl has air channels in the adhesive so bubbles aren't a problem, the seams are pretty much unavoidable, given the expanse and curves of the vehicle you're working on. The roof and hood on my truck are two pieces and the seam on the sides are halfway up the windows, not that noticeable if the artwork lines up right. Mine didn't, as you can see at the top of the doors where it meets the roof.

Burban- I made the front bumper (can't see paying $1500 for a stupid bumper)

JohnC-took about a week, working a couple hours here and there when I could, can be done in a day.

Adams-I've got about 6 hours in design time altogether.

Breeze- Nice job on the wrap man. Have you ever used the flat laminate over black to make it appear to be flat black paint? Was it difficult to go over the tailgate letters? which printer are you using?

That looks Great! Coming from a painter...you have a huge advantage over paint, pull it all off, run adhesive remover all over, and re do. Alot less work than a re paint.

Yes you can. Last months Hotrod Magazine did an article on a white car with flames. The entire white part of the car was a wrap but it looked like paint.
