Dodge front Suspension

Anybody tried adapting the front suspension off a late model dodge with the coil springs? They sure ride good.

Re: Dodge front Suspension

Nope, but I can't say the idea hasn't crossed my mind.

They did that on Extreme 4x4 a while back.

Re: Dodge front Suspension

I would rather do a 3 link with panhard. The dodges arms break at the axle. But i do remember he was able to drive to the camp which was a 3-400 yards, with the help of some tie downs.

Re: Dodge front Suspension

I personally wouldn't graft the dodge suspension setup into one of our trucks, especially the pos D60 front axle. This may sound like sarcasm, but it isn't. The D60 under the front of the newer dodges is the crappiest one out there, with the axle disconnect and unit bearings and no locking hubs unless you buy some expensive kit that itself could pay for an older D60 that has all the goodies already (kingpins, serviceable wheel bearings, lockouts, 1 pc axleshafts).

onlyifihadachevy has the right idea...a link suspension with a good front axle would be worlds better

Re: Dodge front Suspension

when you say newer are you talking about the 03+ trucks? if so they have a 14-9.25 are are very very durable.

hell even the older 94-02 dodge do have a very strong axle.
there are many many diesel trucks out there running 600hp + on those things w/o any issues.

their trackbars and horrible but if you were to put it in one of our trucks you would be changing that anyway.
