60-66 cab and bed on a 88-98 chassis?
Has anyone done this? I have a 62 c10 shortbed fleetside that I want to put an 95 gmc shortbed regular cab frame. I already own the frame but it is up in Virginia in my parents garage while im down here in Florida with the 62. My father gave me the idea and I was hoping some had already done it so they can give me some tips. Im sure the cab and bed wont bolt right up but hopefully the wheel base is the same.

Re: 60-66 cab and bed on a 88-98 chassis?
There was a new guy on here that was working on doing this. I haven't seen an update for a while......and I've forgotten his username.
Personally I don't think it would be a good frame donor. Those newer frames are pretty wide and I think they drop down too much under the cab much like the '73-'87 frames. Of course I haven't done one with the '88-'98 frame, but I have done the '73-'87 frame swap and wouldn't do it again. I'm not saying it can't be done, it's just a lot of work and I didn't like the end result. One last thing, the rear ends in the '88-'98's are quite a bit wider than the '63-'70 rear ends. I don't rem, ember the exact measurement, but I'm not sure the tires will fit inside the bedsides. I can get the exact measurement tomorrow.

I'm the new guy that they were talking about. After posting on two different forums and looking at some measurements, I determined that it really would be a lot of work, bec the wheelbase length and width is different, as well as the shape of the frame, which was mentioned above. Still, I mean, anything can be done with time and skill, both of which I do not have
