If you are going to keep the drum brakes you need a complete setup from a truck with power drum brakes, including the proportioning valve and rod that fastens to the brake pedal.

Re: 67 gmc non power brakes

exactly^^^ your going to need a proportioning valve for power brakes (drum or disc) along with the rod from the back of the master

Re: 67 gmc non power brakes

There is no difference between and power or non-power combination valve/proportioning valve. The only difference is between disc and drum since the disc version does not need a residual valve for the front brakes. Discs in front don't need a residual valve. Drums need one. I converted to power on my all drum 68 C10 and used the existing valve. No issues. Just be sure you have all the linkage connecting the booster to the pedal.

First two are wrong, mclairmo is right. You unbolt the existing master cylinder and brake line junction block from the firewall and bolt it onto the new booster. The lines will have enough flex in them to fit further from the firewall due to the booster. There is no change in master cylinder, lines, or anything else.

I guess I had a brain fart... This is exactly how I did the White Truck 3 or 4 years ago... Nobody ever accused me of being too smart...

Re: 67 gmc non power brakes

No, you need the linkage and brackets too. On these trucks there is an intermediate bellcrank linkage and spacer brackets between the booster and firewall.

That stuff is only available new. You can find it on the parts board or send teeitup a message and see if he still has a bunch of them around.

No, just the booster, no brackets, linkage, bellcrank, rod, etc. I bought a complete used booster off Ebay with all the brackets, linkage, bellcrank and rod included and replaced the junk booster with a rebuilt from Autozone for $99.

Re: 67 gmc non power brakes

If any of you either can't find the original boosters and brackets, or just want the booster closer to the firewall, let me know, I make a bracket for power brakes on the '67-'72's. A link to the for sale thread is in my sig.
