The kickdown switch is pretty common on GM Fullsize cars , 1968 - 1976 Olds Delta 88 , 98 , Wagons , Impalas , Bonnevilles ... more common on these than trying to find a GM "A" body ... Good Luck !!!

You ever get a kick down switch? I have been searching since 2000 or so...My dad was told that Chevy stopped making the part in 1991 and we could never track down an aftermarket supplier. My old engine had about a 283 engine with stock three on the tree transmission and pull out overdrive. When we switched to a 350 four bolt main, we lost the kickdown switch. (oh and the overdrive cable was busted years ago...another story) So now when I go down the highway, it whines really load past about 35 miles an hour! Been thinking about just putting in a 350th or something similiar so I can actually drive the freeway without it screaming! -JD

Wanna make an easy one? Get a vacuum switch that closes when vacuum falls. Stick anywhere you got a vac source & run the hot output to your tranny. Floor it, vac drops, trans drops back from 3 to 2.

Just out of curiosity I did about 10 minutes worth of searching and found that '67,'68,'69 Firebirds used a carb mounted trans kickdown for the TH400. Found on ebay for $30 with bracket. The bracket would be the best part, the switch looks like a regular brake light switch. Will try to post a link or pic.
