What did you get done 10/25/2009 edition
I have had the most precious houseguest the last six days, my granddaughter so we didnt get anything done with my truck. My buddy had been borrowing it and he finally returned it SO last night we ran it up to the house upstate and parked it on my property there, so its back in mothballs
you all?

Re: What did you get done 10/25/2009 edition
The rear suspension is out. We began the process of removing the stock middle crossmember and the leaf spring hangars. With these rivets, what a PIA.
Used the air hammer and then switched to the grinder with the cut off wheel midway thru. By the end of this week I hope to have the bag mounts from the PO plasma cut off the frame and the leaf spring hangars all torn off. Later, Jon D. |

Re: What did you get done 10/25/2009 edition
Just got home from 3 months at sea Wednesday morning on the USS Reagan. Spent some quality time with my wife, catching up on the forums and checked over the truck. Power steering fluid drained out and the oil and trans fluid are low. No biggie just enjoying being home with my new wife of 3 mos.
I'm standing on the fantail (back of the boat) in this pic manning the rails.

Saturday - New brakes all around on the truck. Poished the wheels. Washed it and got pissed at a new scratch...
New rear brakes on the Corvette. Detailed said 'vette. Sunday - Woke up early to go to a show in Arbuckle that was dedicated to my late Uncle Dennis. Just got back from a bad night at work and getting ready to turn and burn. Work will not be fun tomorrow...

Went to the Upull sat to get 28 spline axle shafts for the s10 and found a 3/4 ton burban. Took the sway bar and rear bumper and brackets. $70 worth of parts and 2 hrs in the mud.

Re: What did you get done 10/25/2009 edition
Well over the past couple weekends spent the time and the hard part $$$ to finish up my wifes 73 Apollo. Converted it from a GM 250 to the 383 that once pulled duity in my truck. The project took a little over a year to finsih since the budget is paper thin. I finished the dual exhaust sunday except it needs some tips and I may weld in an H pipe for good measure. Also had to drop the 3 on the tree to the floor since her coulmb was hammered from not having routine linkage adjustments. Just sucks we couldent keep it on the tree. But she runs great shifts great just a few little odds and ends to tie up but now I have use of my garage again!!

Re: What did you get done 10/25/2009 edition
I didn't do much. Worked all day Saturday of course. The boss took the whole sales force out to dinner at Outback for a good start to this month. Then Sunday took the truck out for a 5 mile or so run to keep it moving. Just can't wait to get the motor swapped in. Should be soon once I can get my paypal to let me send a payment for a couple parts.

I worked Saturday so I didn't get much done. Cleaned the drivers up, etc.
Saturday evening I went to a Homecoming party to take pictures of my daughter and her friends. Sunday I worked in the yard some and finished up my Ride Tech article-LINK

Actually they are just friends. This was a homecoming at another school that she has several friends at. She went with the same guy last year.

Re: What did you get done 10/25/2009 edition
Well, Friday afternoon I took my truck up to the career center to work on it this week. I got it up there, ran a scope on it, realized I need to replace my plugs, and I found out that my carb needs to be rebuilt. Plus, not sure if it counts, but, I did a compression test on all 8 cylinders today and its a consistent 151lbs. on each one. Yippeeee, I don't have to replace my rings!
