Truck Died

My dad and I got back to my house after stripping some parts off of a Blazer body and were parking his truck (80 chevy 1ton 350/4spd) he put it in reverse and started to back up and it died, he started it back up backed up maybe 2 feet and it died again, turned the key and nothing happened. I even pulled the light switch out and the lights didn't even come on, the truck just died completely.

Anyone have any ideas as to what may have happened?

Re: Truck Died

Thanks for the replies, based on your suggestions my dad went ahead and bought 2 new battery cables cause the old ones had some corrosion. Swapped them out, the positive cable was barely held on to the starter, and it started right up.

Thanks again guys.
