Re: Saw this Jewel today
very cool story - that's all I kept thinking when I started reading the thread "Poor old truck is missing a cap, someone on here MUST have a spare for him..."
good for you guys making that happen! Very cool.

Re: Saw this Jewel today
That is a great story!
Last year I was taking out 800SF of grass from my front yard by hand. So when I was at the dump one time unloading my trailer, this old lady and her grand doughter drive up in a 68 or 69, the bed was full of grass clippings and I made a comment about helping her. She said no need and proceeded to activate the hydralic bed dump. She was out of there in a matter of minutes. Her truck was in similar condition to this one.

Re: Saw this Jewel today
I didn`t think that much about it.Just seemed like the thing to do.But,now seeing him putting it on brings a tear of joy to my eye.I guess it`s hearing how he truly appreciates it.I kinda feel selfish for jumping ahead of all the others that would have done the same and missed out on how good I feel right now.I feel like the gal dern hubcap fairy up in here.

Re: Saw this Jewel today
Way cool of you guys! Good to see that the man appreciates what you did for him. Heck, if you're lucky he will end up giving you the truck instead. Doesn't hurt to have wishful thinking.

Re: Saw this Jewel today
Maybe the board should do "Adopt-a-Truck" for the Christmas season...Pick a truck that needs help. Board members lend a hand.

Good thing that you and special-K have done. The old saying "what goes around comes around" applies to GOOD DEEDS also.

Re: Saw this Jewel today
I like the adopt-a-truck idea.As far as what I did,I was just the first to do it.I bet he could end up with a bed full of hubcaps from this site. Now I wish I had door bottoms. They are available and not very expensive.Just hard to install for the average guy.
