'71 K20 rear drum install
OK I finally got everything for the brakes, which included new drums and bearings. The PO didn't have all of the lock/retaining nuts (only 3 per side). I now have all four. The 11 or 12 spinney one was all chewed up. So which way should the spines point, inward or outward ( i think inward)? PO had them outward.
Is the sequence 6-notched nut, Gooffy lock nut (direction?), flat lock nut and then the last 6-notched nut. |

Re: '71 K20 rear drum install
just did mine on an eaton rear end and it goes flat washer in first then jam nut flat side in, then splined washer then second jam nut then bend in the splines to lock your jam nut. Forgive me for not saying the correct names of these but I hope you get the idea.
