Bagged or Static Drop on my 71 K5 w/20s
here are some pics of 71 Blazer 2WD, It Has 20X10 and 20X8 Colorado Customs "Valldez" wheels with 275/35/20s and 245/35/20s.
Im ready for a suspension upgrade but I need some sugestions on this one ! Im planning to keep this set of wheels and tires But should I do front 3" JDM spindles with some 2" or 3" coils and rear is there a 7" static drop? or should I just use the 6" coils and bolt on C-Notch? I really want a nice drop on my K5...or Should I bagged it, I already have some goodies for the air suspension like a new Blair350 compressor, selenoids, and some bags but dont have brackets, I dont have the tools to built my own brackets, so were do you suggest to buy some, price wise is it better to bagged at this point, since I already have some parts? or drop kit? |

Its just your personal preference on ride and adjustability brackets are nothing to get a member here makes plats to bolt them on the front and in the back you can replace the spring with a bag no bracket then just the air management stuff either way any pics of your trucks uncovered all the way it looks pretty nice so far

I like the wheels, and say bag it. Adjustability is a good thing!

i would say if ya want to get low donwn then go air bags an possible fornt drop memmber .an you can put the rear bags on the factory trailing arms an just notch the rear frame for axle travel check out ***************** they should have everything you need all brackets an all from mild drop to wild draggin the rockers off

If you have the means, and it sounds like you already have some of the components... bag that thing!

Re: Bagged or Static Drop on my 71 K5 w/20s
..........k will bag it, there's no Votes for static drop !
Yes, since I have some stuff already collecting dust for a year, I think it will be much better to bag it, What I need is a nice set of drop spindles someone here on the forum recomended me a 3" spindle(?), I know there's 2.5 spindle from CPP or ECE, crossmember is a good Idea, But I also have 3 kids to feed, so I'd like to get just the brackets and re-placed my ball joints and bushings. I see alot of you guys are from TX AZ or East Coast, anyone in O.C.714 that can recomended me to an airbag shop? Here's the uncovered pics.! soon will post some pics. of the parts that I already have ! |

Re: Bagged or Static Drop on my 71 K5 w/20s
Glad to finally see the Blazer out from under the covers...
Static drops work well too, but since you're trying to keep within a budget, that's why I recommended the bagged suspension. However, since you will be planning on hauling the family in the blazer, the bagged rear will definitely help with ride quality and if you're bagging the rear then why not do the front while you're at it.

Re: Bagged or Static Drop on my 71 K5 w/20s
Either way you will need other parts besides just bags and drop spindles.
1) Good quality drop shocks. 2) Rear shock relocators 3) Some type of adjustable track bar. (Super Track Bar from ECE is the best in my opinion) 4) a bolt in c-notch 5) a 2 inch lowering block for the rear will also help with the final ride height and for getting the rear axle tube up into the notch when air'd out. I suggest Early Classic Enterprises (ECE) for all your parts>
