Re: 62 drop spindles ??

Not that I'm aware of....I've stared at a few catalogs over the years and never seen any. If you're lowering, you're converting at the same time I guess.

Yeah your best bet would be to do a front suspension swap, then you get disc, way cheaper ball joints and drop spindles that are easier to find. Works out all the way around

Re: 62 drop spindles ??

If you want to stay with 6 lug wheels, there are 2 ways to do it. You can buy aftermarket 6 lug rotors to fit the '73-'87 spindles, or you can do it with OEM parts. Check out this thread for some more info on this.

Re: 62 drop spindles ??

There are no aftermarket dropped spindles for drum brakes. You must upgrade to discs, or, use stepped/dropped lower a-arms.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

The easiest way is 73-87 swap w/aftermarket 6-lug 1.25" rotors. Some guys like the slightly more difficult approach using all OE components w/the 88-98 year model stuff. Either way, the coil front is leap years ahead or the torsion bars...... 73-87's offer the more 'pliant' rubber bushings vs. the rubber-lined steel-sleeve 63-72 bushings. 3/4 ton bushings are still rubber-lined steel sleeves from what I've personally seen.
