Lockout Hubcaps.....Whats the deal with these?
Never seen a set like these before....are they indeed for 67-72 trucks?
Seller claims they are NOS 67-72

Re: Lockout Hubcaps.....Whats the deal with these?
The blue style is 68-72, yellow or mustard is 73-77, and Ford is pre-77, not sure when they started, guessing the same time as the blue ones. Ford's were red.

Re: Lockout Hubcaps.....Whats the deal with these?
Rack Man, you lost me, but I think I know what you are trying to find out.
1967-1968 = NO 4x4 hubcaps at all 1/2 or 3/4 ton, just steel wheels were used 1969-1972 = The style pictured is the only style of 3/4 ton 4x4 hubcap used The first picture and what you are asking about just bolts up the actual lockout to the hub itself. It is not part of the hubcap in anyway. The picture you are asking about is just a lockout chrome ring, but appear to be NOS, and actually worth a small fortune. Seen sets with the blue knobs go for $400+ in great shape.

Re: Lockout Hubcaps.....Whats the deal with these?
After re-reading as well to answer your question Rack Man, 67-68 trucks either used driving flanges, or weird very awkward looking lockouts. The ones pictured in the first pic are 69-77 until they changed the hubs to internal instead of external. The holes you see around the perimeter are what holds the lockout through the spacers and into the hub. Trevor

I'd be interested in those if he's selling them. I've been looking for a nice pair.

Re: Lockout Hubcaps.....Whats the deal with these?
What you showed in the first picture is a pair of k/20 69-75 (GM) outer rings/outer caps for lockout hubs, not hubcaps. They bolt onto the actual hub and cover the end of the axle shafts. It is the part that sticks through the hubcap you show in the second picture.See the "lock" and "free" markings with and arrow? The blue knob fits into that ring. The hubcap you show is the only one offered from 69-75.Before that,K/20s had no hubcaps up front.

Those are going on my 71' during it's 2nd rebuild. Actually, most of everything has a purpose for my truck in the case except the 3/4 ton lockouts. I put them in here to keep dust and damage away and to know where things were at when it comes time. Trevor

Re: Lockout Hubcaps.....Whats the deal with these?
You're right, however I think just to play it safe, the chrome thingys (especially the purdy round ones in the top left corner) should spend the winter in California to avoid any unnecessary rusting, don't ya think?
