Found The Stock Radio From My 62 In the Garage Today !!

Digging around in the attic I came across the stock AM radio for my 62 C10, Should I keep it or toss it away ?? It was working about 15 years ago when removed, has the deluxe knobs still..wiring attached, I removed it and installed a CD and I cut the dash...

is there a place that can rebuild it or install more modern guts in it ?? as I recall when it was in the truck it really did not get very loud, I have the piece I cut from the dash and could re install it...but I gotta have a loud radio, with my exhaust and the damage caused to my ears by having simular exhausts on my cars over the years !!

I thought lilred66 had a "modernized" 456 radio for sale at one point, maybe he can point you in the rightdirection.

I am thinking the way to go now might be the stock radaio and dash with an Ipod port somewhere...

Re: Found The Stock Radio From My 62 In the Garage Today !!

wow that guy that converted his own radio is way beyond me....I have even built Megasquirt ECUs and I would not even attempt that, as far as the rebuilders and aftermarkets...I think I will just throw this one up on ebay and see what It gets, the aftermarket one in my truck has 100 watts per channel and its in and done, since I was re painting the interior of the truck I thought the stock one would look cooler, Thanks for the info !
