Door Handles?

Ok I have a new to me 72 blazer. I have had it about 2 weeks. The questions I have:

Is there someplace that makes metal interior door handles? The last ones appear to ahve been a plastic mold type and broke tonight when it was -7 out. Of course it read made in China under it. I am wanting to replace that as I want a full american truck. Where can I find metal handles? Do I need to look at junk yards? Also the interior door panels are cheap plastic replicas. Can we get ones that are more original feeling? Or am I needing to find a local upholstery place to make something nice?

Where can we buy quality parts?

Thanks guys. O

Re: Door Handles?

Chrome metal interior door handles are a dime a dozen. www.lmctruck.com, Classic Parts of America and everyone else who deals in aftermarket parts for Chevrolet sells them.

Re: Door Handles?

Check the parts section. Those parts are fairly easy to locate. The handles are available reproduced or used.
In`72 GM started using molded plastic door panels. In 67-71 they were metal for standard and covered in vinyl with a scroll pattern. You can go with the earlier panels, but the shanks for the winder and handle are longer. You can swap to earlier pieces so they don`t stick out.
