Value of windshield frame?
Just wondering what you guys think for value, and where is the best place to cut these? The drivers side has some spots, but no blisters that i can see. Thanks, Eric

Re: Value of windshield frame?
Not really based on anything, but supply and demand. Supply is small. I would think I would offer a range of 200-300 if it were available... Cut it as low as possible to give the new owner as many options as possilble. These things really need to go into reproduction, it is a key area that always rusts out

Re: Value of windshield frame?
A lot depends on your location. Since you're at the north end of the rust belt, you'll probably get a decent price. like jaros44s said, cut as low as possible, even to the point of getting the down to where the a-pillar meets the floor.

Re: Value of windshield frame?
I'd cut as much as possible, list it for sale and state that you'll cut down to where ever the buyer needs it cut. You may find someone local that will want the whole thing.

Re: Value of windshield frame?
Good point on the lower 'A' post, if it is rust free down there, it would save the buyer buying a patch panel. plus the more area provided would make for an easier fitment

Re: Value of windshield frame?
I have one that goes all the way down to the cowl. It was shipped from North Dakota to Virginia and shipping wasn't crazy a few year ago. Cut it to the cowl unless you have it sold and know exactly what the buyer wants

Re: Value of windshield frame?
I sold one that had rust on the area under the windshield gasket for $75. I have another one that one of the welded nuts tore out of and will need a repair, so was thinking about $150 for that one, if I decide to sell. If it's in really great condition and doesn't need any work, $200 or more would be reasonable. I cut mine higher up for ease in shipping. I've never seen one that needed the windshield posts as a rust repair, but that doesn't mean they aren't out there. My own opinion is that it would be much easier to get the right alignment with a longer lower post and shorter top end. The posts change thickness as you go down and it would increase the chance of misalignment the lower you go. I would cut in the middle or higher, again, just my opinion.

From what I've heard and read, deep-south trucks (like my TX rig) had the seals shrink earlier in life, letting more water into the pillars earlier on. My driver's side has at least a dozen pin holes in it. I actually bought a northern frame to replace mine (whatever year I get to it). $200-300 if it is in excellent condition. I paid in that range and made sure the seller gave me the visor mounting brackets (since they are part of the top mounting).

Re: Value of windshield frame?
how soft is the flat center part between the visors and by where the mirror attaches. Mine looked good, but when I pressed on it, you can feel it give.
I may be interested in the frame and visors and such. if you were closer, I'd probably have been interested in the whole truck. are you parting out the rest of it?
