Header Question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

ok guys, i have searched with no luck, and i have seen it, so i know im not crazy haha. i am looking for a set of headers that will clear the factory clutch linkage on a 67 2wd w/ a 327, and they have to be above the framerails., hence why i am changing them. they drag on the ground.

It's going to have to be shorty headers from what I know. All the long tube headers I've seen run below the frame rails. I guess that's an advantage to not lowering my truck. They could've hung down a foot with no worries. Good luck! I'm sure if they're out there someone will know what to use.

When I bought my Headman headers, the guy asked to see my clutch linkage. He told me that the clutch linkage was located in 2 different locations on our trucks. Hedman makes 2 different header models depending on the location of the crosshaft and they're both long pipe headers. When I had them installed they fit perfectly.

ok so i would need to call headman to see what type i have, unless you know the difference?

and the longtubes you have hang below the frame correct.

i thought sanderson made a pair that would fit around the linkage, and were shorty.

I ordered these after getting a set of long tubes from Summit. I had the same issue as you...

I'm not too sure about the mouse motors; but I know that when I swapped over to my elephant I'm running a set of chevell shortie headers. They dump out pointing towards the ground but with a simple cut, weld, drive you have it made

Hello,

I just bought a set of the sanderson headers from Early Classic Ent, and I am having troubles clearing my clutch link on my 4 speed trans. Anyone else come across this issue?
Does anyone have pics of the drivers side sanderson header installed with a 4 speed trans in a 67-72 c10?

I have a 71 2wd blazer... any help would be great

I just installed these edelbrocks on a '69 with a stock clutch linkage.

i found the best price on the ceramic coated ones at ajusa.com

do those headers clear the frame so you can use them on a lowered truck?

zammer, if your asking about the edelbrock hotrod headers. yes they will clear the frame with plenty of room.

here is the post with pics. you can get an idea of how close they come to the frame. my truck is lowered 3" in the front (soon to be bagged) and the back is bagged. The header flanges do not sit any lower than the lowest part of your frame.

I used a set of pretty long headers on my 68 4x4 and had to do some fairly simple mods to my linkage. not to bad if you know how to weld. ill post a pic of my modification soon.
