Possibly a good deal for someone 1972 Cheyenne Super

This truck is not mine it belongs to a friend he is selling it but If I had the money It would have belonged to me. He is asking $9000 if anyone is interrested in looking for a Solid 1972 Cheyenne Super for a great price this is it..It is going to be sad to see this one go but I hope someone from the forum buys it.
TRUCK is 5/6 (3inch drop spindles with 2inch lowering springs up front and 6inch lowering springs in rear)

Thats funny. In the first picture, the tag is leaning toward the passenger side. In the picture of the red truck, you can see the blue one in the background and the tag is leaning toward the drivers side.

Re: Possibly a good deal for someone 1972 Cheyenne Super

I love this truck but can you guys help verify this is a real Super. Im new to these trucks and before I spend a bunch of money on one I want to make sure Im getting what I want. So far I know I have to look for the wood moldings outside and inside but the best thing would be the option sticker on the glove door but this truck doesn't have either. How else can I tell. Thnaks

Re: Possibly a good deal for someone 1972 Cheyenne Super

One sure fire way to tell is the presence of the chrome tailgate handle if 71 or stainless cover if it is a 72, the only other way to tell is the woodgrained dash components and outside trim and the SPID and or build sheet. YE9 is the option code you are looking forin a cheyenne super, option code Z84 is CST or Cheyenne equipment

You're right about that. I would have never caught that detail.

You need to get the VIN off the title and decode it.

This will not tell you if it's a legitimate Cheyenne Super. The Vin only tells you: make, model (fleet, step, etc), 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, etc. , year, motor size, and manufacturing plant. The only way to know if it's a real Cheyenne Super is by the Spid sticker on the glovebox door, buildsheet, or window sticker. Trevor
