This how the floor looked before I cleaned it out. There was a ton of nesting and rat crap under the seat.

It is a very solid truck, a couple of rust spots. But look at the color from firewall.

This is where is as of last night.





I am getting it ready for this cross member.



It takes the S10/G body suspension stuff and a rack&pinion.

Thursday: I met with the welder and got a good price. I will do all the fitment and he will just have to weld. He really liked the kit and thinks it will be easier than the Hiedt's front he did for another guy.

I got all the bracketry off the passenger side frame rail and sanded it down.



Between the red lines is really only needed for prep. I sanded inside the rail and underneath too.



The bell housing crossmember is in the way a little bit. It will be removed after the cross member is welded in. This is the part that is in the way.



Here it is removed from the other side.



A bracket needs to be welded inside the frame rail for support. Scott gives very detailed measurements of where it needs to be. After studying the install manual, I'll show you the dummy way. Again on the passenger frame rail, (right side is front) the red circle shows the hole the bracket needs to be placed over. The large hole is where the brake line came out.



Looking inside the rail, (left is front) the bend goes to the front.



Next, I will prep the other side. Then fit the boxing plates.

I think the rat crap comes standard in these trucks. I have a friend that built a 3600 with MII front and drop spring rear with S10 axle. It looked pretty good and did'nt look like a lwb at first glance.

Sunday: Got more accomplished.

Started getting things roughed in. The front of the frame needs a little notch. It is measured from the front edge of the frame. At first I was how the hell?? But, here is how. Use a welding magnet and fish the tape through the frame.



Then your masking tape marks the notch.



Cut out.



My boxing plates ended up being a little long (which is way better than short). I set them up in the frame located where they should end, then set up for a 3 inch hole. (forgot to grab camera)



Then made finishing cut on the bandsaw.



Test fit with my son the hand model. I wonder what he thinks of this?



For the hell of it we slid the crossmember up there.





Next up is more grinding, fitting and getting the welder to come in.

Neat setup, keep up the good work. If my frame was not already s10 clipped when I got it, I would definitely be considering this route.

Here is one that I used from Industrial Chassis Inc in Phoenix that uses Dodge Dokata suspension bolt ons, looks like the same idea that Scott is using only in Chevy

I don't remember what the total cost was with all new replacable parts but I think it was a bit under the cost of a COMPLETE Mll set up.
The thing I liked about this set up is that it is a front suspension designed from a pick up the same size and weight as our AD trucks

Are you doing power steering? Any other updated mods? I am doing
and s-10 frame on mine, so everything is updated and accessible to get
