80's rear axle
Will an 80's 2wd axle fit in my 67 frame?? Will the axle be too wide or narrow?
Found one for $75.... lug 3.73....not sure ifit's posi...is that a good deal?? Thanks for any help

It will work, but it's not a "bolt in". Your axle is set up for coil spring and trailing arms. The 80's axle will be leaf spring. Beyond that it is 1.5" wider.
If you can pull the cover to inspect it, and everything looks good, then yes that's a good price. A locking dif would be bonus points. What is the condition of your rear end? If your just looking to go 5 lug, then consider the ECE conversion axles. Take a look at this thread for more details- LINK

here's a picture the guy sent me.....what are those brackets on the bottom of the axle tubes??

Those are lower shock mounts.
