do you not have a repair manual? there should be a wiring schematic in there.

No just the factory service manual,
I'm looking at a schematic, but it does not clarify which wire goes through the door switch pin. I think it's the orange one though... Last edited by Nvbowtie; 04-25-2003 at 06:53 AM. |

i dont believe it should really matter, as long as one goes to the door pin and the other goes to the light knob, i suppose it depends on how each is connected to the light????

That sounds good to me
I am tapping on from the dome light wires in the roof to go to a twin lighted rear view mirror. it should have 3-power sources Door open - Light Switch on - Constant pwr for individual side turn on by it's own switch. I hate electrical stuff |

doesnt sound too hard, but from experience with door pins, watch out for your grounds, i blew about 5 fuses before i fixed it.

Orange wire has power when light is OFF.
White wire has power when light is OFF. Orange wire has power when light is ON. White wire does NOT have power when the light is ON. What ever you are hooking to the light system, just do this: Hook power of accessory to the orange wire. Hook ground of the accessory to the white wire. The light will then come on with the switch. My truck does not have door pins for the light, so I cant tell you how that works.

I have a diagram but it just made me more confused! There are 4 orange wires going to the domes, and on white. WTF? It doesn't even show the door pins in the diagram!
