Looks like a cool project you have there. How quick has it been? What plans do you have for it?

if not we can always add another kit.
the truck has run some good numbers with a steel headed bbc and a big shot plate kit but its been a min. since we have been to the track. the nos button was acting up and i ran the truck anyway. the button stuck on and before i coul hit the arm switch it melted a piston. i have been working on everyones ride getting ready for fat tues. race at hub city dragway and have not had alot of time to spend on it.

Re: new engine for my truck

EVERYONE KEEPS TELLING ME TO CHANGE TO NOS TIMERS AND GET AWAY FROM THE PROGRESSOR. I LIKE THE NOS PROGRESSOR BECAUSE IF THE TRACK GOES AWAY YOU CAN TURN THE KIT DOWN WITHOUT HAVING TO CHANGE ALL THE JETS. I KNOW THAT THE PROGRESSOR WORKS THE CRAP OUT OF THE SOLENOIDS BUT I LIKE TO BE ABLE TO BRING THE KIT UP TO 500 NOT TRYING TO GRAB 350 TO 400 OUT THE GATE. THE TRUCK SEEMS TO WORK GREAT ON 250 OUT THE GATE BUT DON'T WANT ANY MORE THAN THAT AT ONE TIME SO I WAS GOING TO START ADDING FROM THERE AND GO TO 500 ON THE FIRST SYSTEM THEN GRAB A SPORTSMAN FOGGER ON A STEERING WHEEL BUTTON IF THE TRUCK WILL HOLD IT. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK BESIDES I AM OUT OF MY MIND.

Re: new engine for my truck

I vote for adding a 3rd stage and maxxing it out, too!!
Seriously though, sometimes the harder the hit, the better the hook. You may want to try it w/o the progressive and see what happens. You still running trailing arms? They work surprisingly well and you may be surprised at how the truck handles the extra hit.

Re: new engine for my truck

still stock suspension all the rear suspension is in its stock places springs, shocks, trailing arms etc... i guess i just need to try it with the new engine.
i have lost a lot of weight in the truck since it was last run. removed the gas tank that i wasn,t even using, going with aluminum heads, tubular front control arms, racing seat, relocated the battery to the right rear frame rail etc... the truck before at dead idle would hold a 250 out the gate but if you got up on the converter any at all it would blow the tires. and i put 300 pills in it and it would not hook for anything. trying to thinking of how to shed some more weight.

It has a plate kit on it that in the past we used for testing the track to see what the truck would hold out the gate. drop 300 pills in it and make a shake down pass. everyone thinks that is all you got then grab both the foggers in the race.

Re: new engine for my truck

That reminds me of this one . It went 10.30 @ 130 in 1990 . Iron head closed chamber 468 , 200 in the plate 200 or 300 in the fogger . Spinnin like hell on 10" slics.

Sweet is that the same truck you have now? That is one bad looking ride. How fast had it been with that big monster under the hood?

Re: new engine for my truck

The cage will be next fo sho. This was my street truck and I was planning on installing a 6.2 and 6 speed automatic trans. from a Cadillac escalade with a fat boy mt et street but I think I have gone a little to far for that now. I have a race car too and it just takes to much to keep both of them up and running.
