Question cab mounts too tall?

I rebuilt my cab with new rockers and floors. I put in urethane bushings and now I'm in the process of lineing up the doors and fenders. BUT, the radiator support is too low when bolted to frame with the correct 67-68 radiator support mount set. If I mount it higher then the grille assy. is too high for the bumper to bolt on. Where did I go wrong- I used 1/2t bushing set.

Re: cab mounts too tall?

did you change the core support mounts ?
over time all the mounts compress at the same rate, so if you didn't change the rubber mounts under the core support you can expect to be off 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. also if you used polyurethane mount cushions you can expect the problem to be even worse. another note is after you get the cab and core support lined up you may have to put shims under the bed to keep it from looking to low. good luck !!

Re: cab mounts too tall?

Do you have 4x4 cab mounts or 2wd cab mounts? The 4x4 cab mounts sit taller.

Re: cab mounts too tall?

actually, I think the only differance between the 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive bushings, and the part number for all other trucks, is in the rear cab bushings. I think the front ones are the same.

Re: cab mounts too tall?

60-68 core support mounting hardware is not the same as 69-72, you should be able to shim with large diameter washers the amount necessary to achieve the alignment. If you can do pics it might help to address your fitment issues.
