72 3 speed HP capacity?
i have not been on hear in a very long time, but i am wondering what the 3 speed manual trans horsepower capacity is. i have a 327 pushing 300 rwhp in it and i have been drag racing(not very good with a three speed), and overall beating the hell out of it. i am very surprised it has not pooped out yet.

Re: 72 3 speed HP capacity?
Is it a Saginaw 3 speed? If it is, I would say that you have pushed it beyond it's limits already and are living on borrowed time. If I remember correctly, the transmissions are in this order of strength. 1 Saginaw, 2 Borg Warner, 3 Muncie

i know its not a muncie, i believe it is a saginaw. i am very happy with it though, and very surprised. i dont mind if it breaks, as i have a rock crusher waiting to go in this spring.

Re: 72 3 speed HP capacity?
I have lost 3 sag 3 speeds and 1 sag 4 speed and went to an auto with 3000 stall and still running strong.
