Re: anyone swap 4wd 5 speed in your truck

do u have a sm465/np205 or 203? or 208?? ud most likely want to fun a nv4500 (80's pickup).. try advanced adapters for an adapter, depending on the transfercase it might require a new output shaft in the trans.. it can get costly..
another route, depending on which side ur front diff is on(pass or driver) find a mated nv4500/transfercase out of a newer pickup that drops the transfercase on the correct side, if not might have to swap front axles to accomidate ur newer transfercase..
as far a a direct bolt in i dont know of any.. and when u change from a sm465 u loose the granny gear..

Re: anyone swap 4wd 5 speed in your truck

chevy and dodge are pass drop, ford is drivers drop, i dont know if the nv4500 was used in the fords or not.. it would probably have a np231 t-case, and i think they made those drop either side, weather a ford drop t-case will bolt up to a chevy nv4500 i dont know..
i know the 205 u have they made drop to either side and divorced mout too...
adapters usually run 400.00, output shaft i dunno, then to have it installed u have to have the tranny prettymuch rebuilt...
would you go with an auto overdrive?

Re: anyone swap 4wd 5 speed in your truck

cool.. lol, u need parts for it? i have one dissasembeled that came from behind a 465..
ur best bet is get one with the adapter allready there, there are a few different inputs for the 205.. 465, th350, th400, all with different adapters.. i have a np205-th350 adapter, ud need the correct input for the np205, i paid 150 for the new input in my other np205, the th400/np205 is the strongest, most expensive to find or setup from scratch tho..
