Remember the K/20 Highlander I had?

This one I sold to a friend?

I was at his place and the UPS guy delivered this:

So he can recover this:

Re: Remember the K/20 Highlander I had?

those saddle blanket covers are nice. warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

why is the craptastic headder gasket on the seat? shouldn't it be hanging on the wall collecting dust for 20 or 30 years?

It already has been hanging that long collecting dust. That must have been when the one manifold broke clear off where it collects.I just grabbed that from it`s roosting place for a quick manifold replacement using what I had.I was selling it anyway.Let the next guy worry about it.Aw darn... I did end up selling to a friend, didn`t I?Some friend, huh? IIRC,that thing blew out no sooner than it was installed.I dug out a coffee can that had been on the shelf collecting dust for 20-30 years with OEM style manifold gaskets that had rust on them from sitting on the shelf for 20-30 years. That was a couple years ago.I did sand them off some. They rust once they`re heated up anyway. They were just pre-seasoned.

Is that the one you used in the snow while the diesel was in the shop? I like that highlander interior.

Yeah Boog,That`s it.I`m waiting for him to cover the seat to borrow it next time.

There was also a grey pattern,4 in all.Right Frank?.Back when people weren`t so darnd sensitive,The Scotts were spoken of as being frugal. That`s where the Scotch Tape brand came from. There was a discount gas company called Scott`s with a Scottish mascot. That`s why the Scotch plaid fabric and the name Highlander. It was GMs first discounted options group on trucks. It`s cool in`72.But,was the beginning of the end for highly individualized trucks ordered any way you like.
Not sure about where Dutch Treat came about, but my next wife is going to be Dutch.

Yes Tim, they came in four colors. Blue, orange, green (avocado) or gray. I used to have favorite colors, but anymore, i like em all.

Sorry for the trauma there Stocker.I guess we get those sickening threads from time to time.I`m just enjoying the truck I sold vicarelessly() through my friend now.I should give him some money back on it.How often do you sever a relationship with a favorite and still have visitation rights?I should be paying truck support!

First? There may be earlier packages before the "Highlander". In 1968, the "50th Golden Anniversary" , IMO, was a limited time discounted options group package, probably similiar to the loaded "Highlander Package C", but just came in one color. In 1967, we had the "Pacesetter Special", a discounted options group at a special price. Most of these packages came out at mid year to spur sales, and give the buyer extra value and savings if you purchased a package of popular options, instead of individual options.

Re: Remember the K/20 Highlander I had?

Mine doesn't have a blue plaid highlander seat cover under it but I do have the exact same blue-ish seat cover. It came with the truck.
You know, that thing is in pretty rough shape after my 15+ years of ownership. Are they still available out there or did they disappear with tape decks that fit our metal dashes without any cutting?

Re: Remember the K/20 Highlander I had?

I used to get them at Central Tractor, but they aren't around here. It seems TSC (who I never liked as much) took the area over. Is Tractor Supply (Farm & Family Centers) still around at all? I used to order them from Shepler's Western Wear. I just checked their website and only see apparel. Haven't dealt with them in years.
I just googled saddle blanket seat covers and they are still available. Good to know.
