FINALLY, The LS Swap Can Start
Well, went after work yesterday to look at a 5.3 and 4l60e. Knowing it wasnt really what I wanted but the price was good enough. Once I got there I saw a LKQ delivery van with the side caved in. So, hoping for a 6.0 I went to scope things out and sure enough it had a 6.0 and 4l80e. It is an 06 model with 82,xxx miles on the clock. Fired it up and it runs like a top. No leaks that I could see either. Talked to the guy at the salvage place for a while and wound up buying the 6.0, 4l80e, ECU, harness, fans, and anything else I want off this thing for $1500. I am totally syked and cant wait to get to work on this thing. My truck is sitting with no heart at home and desperately needs a transplant. LS POWAAA!

Re: FINALLY, The LS Swap Can Start
It's a 2006 LQ4 I beleive. I am not sure on the power but I think it was around 315hp and 370tq stock with all emissions equip. intact. Hopefully with no converters, headers and a tune it will make some good power.

Re: FINALLY, The LS Swap Can Start
Man you guys are making me want to start over!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like you got a heck of a deal on that motor. There was a similar 5.3 engine/tranny/transfercase floating around on craigslist here. The price started real high but got down to $750 before it quit showing up... it was all I could do to show restraint! |

Re: FINALLY, The LS Swap Can Start
Yeah I couldnt pass it up. I just got off the phone with the wonderful people at wait4me performance and I cant beleive how personable and affordable they are. I mean, $360 shipped for my harness converted to stand alone and performance tune the ECU. That is awesome. Will definately be doing business with them soon. Cant wait for the 6.0 to show up at my doorstep now!!!!

Re: FINALLY, The LS Swap Can Start
So, what all does the harness entail? do you just send them the harness that came with the motor and they fix it all up so you just add power?

Re: FINALLY, The LS Swap Can Start
Thats what they said. In order to run, just hook up one power and one ground. I am sure there will be other things for the fans, A/C, etc. but doesnt sound bad at all.

No doubt, same here. Going from 2.73 to 3.42 took it to a whole other level!!
