Pull a valve cover and get the casting number. Then go to www.mortec.com

Re: head id
I found this link when searching for my head information. I hope it helps.
http://www.chevytech.com/3c000.html Here is another: http://www.chevellestuff.com/qd/head...ng_by_year.htm And another..lol http://www.fastnuf.com/Headguide.html I cannot find your specific heads casting shape, take the valve cover off and look it up on mortec as was stated before.

The 487 heads will flow as well as any factory double hump head. The only real problem with them is that they have poor combustion and burn characteristics compared to the earlier closed chamber style heads. You can get 220 CFM out of them without too much work and they will make a good cheap set of heads. They are heavy castings too, and are not crack prone. They are among the best of the open chamber heads in terms of airflow, but flow numbers alone won't equate to big horsepower numbers.

Re: head id
If i remember correctly this heads were used on Gm performance engines such has cop motors, camaro's and possibly corvettes. They are a good head as mentioned, but just look into how much it's gunna cost to get any HP from them. I have a set of 041. I have a set of top knotch heads now, but I spend around 700- 750 on them getting the ready. I could have bought at the time a set of world product heads for around 850, without all the work I put into the 041's

Re: head id
There are some variations to the casting marks so you can't alway count on them for positive ID.
