Bed Liner question: How much for one?

I am considering getting a Spray-On bedliner done to my truck. They quoted me $300 for an under-the-rail job. Real quality place...do you think that's too much $$? I'm considering getting it done, becuase my bed looks like CRAP! (surface rust and paint's chipped to hell) After I got it done, I would simply pull the sides of the bed off and then sand/primer/paint then and stick em back on...that way, at least HALF of my truck will be painted
But seriously, you guys with Spray-On bedliners, how much did you pay? I'm wanting to get this done and then put carpet in there and possibly have a camper shell for it, if I ever wanna take it somewhere, so i can sleep in the back

Line-X seems to be the best spray in bedliner on the market.
Its my first choice.

How much did one of you guys pay for a line-x spray in bedliner on a fleetside shortbed?

I have no idea how much my bedliner was since it came with the truck when I bought it. But I love it.

It is the Rhino spray on lining. It looks like it has been on there for quite a few years now and there are only a few areas right by the tailgate that are chipped. Looks like some sharp steel or something actually got rammed into the corners and sliced the stuff.

It is about a 1/8" thick. I would seriously consider this no matter what the price. No plastic lining to slide around in the box and there is no way that salt and water can get underneath it like a plastic liner and slowly eat my box away.

Line-X quoted me $399, but I have a $100 off coupon I won at the Asparagus Festival yesterday. There's a Rhino down the street from my house, I'm gonna go see how much they get for a liner.

I prefer Rhino over Line-X mainly because a friends Line-X chipped out (it is harder) If you get it sprayed on first and then want to take the bedsided off, reconsider. It will pretty much be coated together and you will have to cut it apart.

Aww ok, I wasn't aware of that, but I THOUGHT I would have to do the bedsides first. OK, then I guess this weekend I'll pull em off and do em up.

Line X is the only company I have seen test videos of. The stuff is strong and I believe it is warranty for life against chipping scratching, etc. They will respray the area or entire bed depending on problem (their choise)
Warranty is something you should look into!

Some off lifetime and others dont. I believe Line-X does.
Most I have seen are done by inyatti (?), they seem nice, but I have never seem one that has been put through alot of abuse so I dont know how they hold up.

I'd be getting it done for about 50% looks and 50% toughness. My truck sees SOME abuse, but not much. Because I don't have a tailgate or rear bumper, the bed of my truck is very noticeable and seeable (sp?), so having the bed coated would make it look 100x better!

To be honest, if you check with other customers of either company and they are happy, I would go with either. Both are an improvement over nothing. I just like the rubbery surface of Rhino as it is less slippery, than the hard Line-X. As for the price, $300 sounds reasonable, but you can always negotiate.

I had the Rhino put in my 70 C-10 long bed. Got it over the rails in the blue color for 440.00. My bed was in pretty bad shape. Paint was scraped off and some rust. Line-X told me I had to have the bed sandblasted before they would spray it. Rhino just washed it and sprayed it in. My 2cents

I had the standard, under-the-rail black Rhino sprayed on in '98. It cost $399 back then for my longbed fleetside. It hasn't chipped or peeled or anything. It has faded quite a bit, though. Very high quality product. There's no comparing it to a plastic liner, I would never own one of those again.

Rhino was one of the first spray-in liners. I've never seen a Line-x or any other liner up close. I can't comment on those brands. Like TC70C10 said, all Rhino had to do was wash the bed. It really covered up all the dents and dings really nice.

I would also recommend Line-X. $300 is a great deal and I would also consider having it sprayed over-the-rail. If you add a tonneau cover down the road, you'll be glad you did.

Rhino has a sealer spray they can keep it from fading now.

I bought some spray from Rhino last summer that was supposed to make it shine again, and it did work. But it didn't last very long. And it was expensive, like $12 a bottle. I wonder if that's the same stuff?

Yeah, I bought a small bottle of that stuff for 6 bucks. I've used it twice and it really does bring back the color (my liner is blue).

It's similar to armor all but doesn't have the silicone. They told me to never use armor all on the rhino.

Casey, the stuff I am talking about is sprayed on before you leave. That is what the guy told me that does it here.

Yeah, you're not supposed to use anything else like that. I found out the hard way. One day after putting wet shine on my tires, I decided that it would probably make the bedliner nice and shiny again as well.

Well, it definitely made it shiny! And very slick! I mean, that bed liner was so slick, you couldn't stand on it! To this day, it's still a bit slick.

Chalk that up to the "DUH" category, I guess! Oh well, you live, you learn!
