air bag questions

i am planning on putting air bags on my 70. but i want them to be able to air out slow so its not so harsh and bouncy? so what affects how much air gets pushed in to the bag? i dont know if its the size of air lines, or the valves or what? thanks!!

Size of lines and valve will make a difference. 1/4" lines are easy to route. I'm using 3/8" valves because I got a deal on them but 1/4" is ok if your running 1/4" lines.

so 1/4" valves and lines would probably be what i would need to get it that way. where did you get your air parts from?

Having had 1/4" and 3/8" systems, I feel your better off with 3/8"s. Going down slowly is as easy as inserting a piece of small line inside your large airline. They also make adjustable regulators to add control as well.

While I understand your desire for a system that drops slow, what your not taking in to consideration is the slow rise times you will have.

Use 3/8" valves & lines and put a tunable dump control fitting on each dump valve. You can adjust the drop time to your liking and still have a quick rise time that the 3/8ths line offers.

I have 5/8s line and 1/2 lift valves and 3/8s dump with a plug in the end of them with a 1/8 holes drilled in them to slow them down.. my dumps are perfect for me...

my sonoma has 1/2 e brand valves and 1/2 line and i use the plug witha 1/8 inch hole drilled in the dumps, couldnt ask for anything else. My burb will have 3/8 smc valves and 1/2 line. 1/4 inch lines will take tooooooo loooooong to fill.

I'm running 1/2" lines with flow controls. The flow controls are adjustable, so that you can tweak to your liking. Hope this helps.
