Nova 3 speed

I have found a synchronized 3 speed Muncie transmission out of a 71 Nova, 307 floor shift. Will this transmission work in my 67 truck with column shift without a whole lot of problems? Transmission comes with yoke. Truck is 250 6 cyl.

Thanks,
Randy

Re: Nova 3 speed

Your 67 probably has the old no syncro (2 pin Muncie). the saginaw ,with floor shifter will bolt right in(you need to nut & bolt the bottom 2 holes on the bell), as the truck trans had the bottom ears on the trans threaded. Other than that chop a hole in the floor for the shifter, swap the slipyolk, & most likely cut & rebalance the shaft. Some of the old muncie trans had a short tailshaft. Best of luck, crazyAL

Re: Nova 3 speed

the lower ears on truck transmissions are threaded and bolts fasten from inside the bell housing. car transmissions the lower ears are not threaded and fastners go through the ears and thread into the bell housing
