Big Block Exhaust...
What are you guys running?
Single or duals? Size of pipes? Muffler brand? How do you like your setup? |

Re: Big Block Exhaust...
i like what the other two guys say but then its all gonna depend on what youre doing with the truck and what kinda use....
drag, street, pulling trailer/motorhome etc..... big headers and big pipes sounds AWESOME but can hurt bottom end a bit (then cam , heads etc. all come into play) i personally would have loved 3-4" w/ 40 series flows on my BB when i had it but went with 2 1/2 and flows.... sounded great .... |

Sanderson BB4 Block Huggers, 2 1/2 in dual pipes, Doug Thorley Electric cutouts, 14 in Magnaflow mufflers. Everything is tucked up between the frame rails so it does not show from the sides....after all...I wanted a sleeper.

Re: Big Block Exhaust...
I had stock manifolds, dual 2.5" pipes with Flowtech Afterburners on the mild .030" over 454 in my '69. It sounded like a school bus to me, but that was probably more to do with a low compression motor and a tiny cam. I just had it totally rebuilt to a 468 with Ebrock aluminum heads, 10.8:1 compression and a Comp XE294 cam. It will be wearing 1.75" ceramic long tube hedman hedders, 3" duals with an X pipe. Hopefully all that will make it sound purdy.
