Re: 69 cst-10

I wrote my signature when the engine was built and it says 10.5:1 so i may have been wrong. It probly is 10.5 Im running 91 and havent heard anything bad. I do plan on using some Octane boost or maby mix in some 100 with every tank just to have more fun. Im sure the 91 will be fine by itself though.

Re: 69 cst-10

Actually heat is the primary concern when the compression gets that high. Gage if your dad was to do much hot rodding with 11:1 on 91 he would probably burn a valve or piston.

Re: 69 cst-10

Today i fired it up for 1 minute and it cut out. I do not have spark. Looked into my Mallory 6AL and it has power out but not to the coil. It was really freaking hot also. Need to look into it more.

Re: 69 cst-10

I don't know alot about that setup. However, the heat issue would lead me to believe there is a ground problem somewhere. It is supposed to have a full 12v to it right?

Unhappy Re: 69 cst-10

Yea its connected directly to the batt cabel. I redid the ground but still no luck. (Update) Called Mallory they believe its an internal problem and will be acknowledging the 1 year warranty. I called Jegs and they are sending me a replacement.

Re: 69 cst-10

I am not sure but it was getting power in. Some output wires had full power. THe coil wires were really weak. May have been from a bad ground but im not claiming anything on my part. It has a warranty and i am exchanging it When i felt the box it was crazy hot. I opened the little door and a bad smell came out.

Re: 69 cst-10

I had a small leak from my fuel press reg so i just got in a new return style one i will be throwing on. I ordered my Power brake booster 8"duel diafram. Ill be finishing my brake lines. Also have all new rubbers (Caugh) coming in for the doors/window. Ill be ordering new front and back windows in about 2 weeks along with a new 40/20/40 lowback seat. Almost there Im getting so damn anxious.

Re: 69 cst-10

Was hoping the driveshaft would show up by now but i did get something that will keep me busy for a few more days, I guess i would need something to hold the motor back. Its an 8in duel diaphram. Also added a return style regulator.

Re: 69 cst-10

It is a POL booster. I had to go with the 8in because the 11in would not have fit. I have about 2 inches between the valve cover and it. Almost done with the brake lines just need a few 3/8in fittings.

Re: 69 cst-10

Cool, from the pic it didn't look like you had that much room. I figure you're going to be twisting the frame now and then with the throttle.

Re: 69 cst-10

HAHA, I dont know if itll twist the frame with drag radials but once i throw a set of slicks on and the NOS, 750+hp, it may pull the tires a little.
