Tires

Can you use normal car tires on 2wd trucks or you really need light truck tires?

Re: Tires

Depends on how you use your truck. If you just drive it, don't haul or carry anything heavy, car tires will be fine. But if you use it like a truck, you might want to get some heavier tires.

Re: Tires

if you ue the truck for anything more than a couple of hundred pounds in the bed then truck tires are the way to go but ive used P235 75 R 15 on mine without any issues

Re: Tires

I just put two new BF Goodrich Commercial T/A's on the Dooley, size 235/85R16, Load Range E. I want the best tire I can afford, and the Michelins were way too much $.

I hear ya. I'm a big fan of Michelin tires, but I couldn't justify spending that much loot since they'll die of old age before I can wear the tread off. I just don't put that many miles on my truck.

Re: Tires

We go through tires pretty quickly. We stick to the mid-grades, Goodyear, Cooper, I went with an offbrand and it's worn almost half its tread off in a year.

As stated, unless you're hauling more than 500 pounds you don't need Light truck tires, your regular Passenger car ones will run you just fine.

Re: Tires

I have "car" tires on my truck. I love them. They tend to be a little softer ride than the "light truck" tires too.
