Sweet, thanks for the help on posting pics Orence. The car shows are starting up soon... I can't wait! I try and mix it up, like actually wash it for one show and then get her covered in 3inch mud all over for the next, lol. usually give a good show:p

lol, nah, prom's in two weeks. I was in a big push to get the bigger tires on before then so I'm pretty glad about the X-terrains... If I can sneak the digital in my Tux pocket I'll get some pics of my date pullin out the climbing rope:p Thanks for the comments

Great call on the motor! I saw a 348 in a t-bucket a while back that was about 99% chrome, a real cool hot-rod motor with the curved heads and valve covers!

Nice BB 409, arent these engines hard to come by these days. Are the 348's similar other than the stroke? I have a chance to get a 348, you gotta love the look of the bbc 409 and needless to say the horsey power...

Chevy 409, thanks alot for the info. Now it looks like I now have a line on a 409 supposely its in a 61 station wagon of some sort. Its been parked in a pasture for the last 10 years supposely it was driven there. He says the engine is complete nothing has been taken off of it since parked.I'll been going to look at it sometime soon. Is there something I should be looking at in perticular. The guy has no interest in it at all, so hopefully that translate into a Killer Deal, we shall see...

There's a lot of different variables when it comes to figuring the worth of a 409, that's one thing I've learned since looking into these engines. Depending on the year, which application and how it's set up, etc., are some big factors. You're best bet is to go the following site: http://www.348-409.com/forum/index.php?s=

Just tell the guys there what you've got and they can tell you if it's any good or not, they're pretty knowledgable about the "W" motors. Goodluck with it
