A friend of mine had a VW Thing. The ride was worse than a garbage truck!! Le Car was made by Renault, the French manufacturer.

Dude i went to high school with had a bright yellow thing. He was 6'7" and he used to wear aviator goggles when he drove it cause his head was so far above the windshield. In the winter he had a plywood roof.

You know it is funny how big the SWB looks next to the Thing. And our trucks are fairly small in modern terms.

Try a 30s 40s truck next to a new one. They look like a Metro next to a school bus.

Re: i parked next to the weridest thing today...

My '95 1500 single cab was huge compared to my '82 single cab when i had them parked next to each other. Up untill that point i thought square bodies were kinda big. But thats mostly all vehicles. 1980's Impala/Caprice were called boats at one point but a 90's Impala/Caprice was even bigger.

DON`T make jokes about german engineering art!
There´s one with a Hayabusa engine wich is a little scary but cool!
The orange one is a Renault 5 wich was very common in Europe!
What you call the "thing" is a "VW 181 Kübelwagen" and was made to serve the army after WW II together with the VW Beetle!
