Re: 60-66 Big Red Heavy Chevy C60
I have been thinking about a c40- c-60 in the 67-72 model range because that is the models of trucks I am building currently. My brother in law just retired from farming and said I could get his trucks. He has a 61 with a 409 and a 65 with a 6 cyl. What rear gear ratios would something like that have? Been thinking about a rollback bed on one to haul my wrecks from the sale. The plan with the c50 [67-72] would be a late model 6.0 or a duramax maybe with tilt steering and late model seats and air. Re: 60-66 Big Red Heavy Chevy C60
j.kirn; I've got to get under it and see what it looks like. If sheet metal is good. Maybe. I'm acting as if I am. rims tires, starter, battery, two speed vacuum switch, probably the rubber diaphragm needs replacing rear brakes. So you know some other miscellaneous issues. Rest assured that you will be the first to know. I recently found a Gmc 73-80 something. May be coming out of fire service. Got to continue to do some reserch. bushy

Re: 60-66 Big Red Heavy Chevy C60
bushy, good find.
J.kirn - that is a sweet truck! judging from the doors, I'd guess it's a 64-66.. but I'm not 100% sure if they swapped doors/cabs at the same time as the smaller trucks. The stovebolt page has a 'big bolts' section for the 1.5 ton and bigger trucks. Check out the site and go to the forums, then Big Bolts. -W Last edited by Woogeroo; 02-03-2010 at 10:21 PM. |

Re: 60-66 Big Red Heavy Chevy C60
the inner fenders and core support are taller than a c10, I heve a good set of inners that I think I can modify for one of my 1/2 tons, I havent tried yet , but I think I just need to trim about 4 inches off the bottom....
