Flip Kit Questions.

.Is C-Notching a frame necessary when doing a flip kit? Can it be avoided?

Thanks alot in advance.

Re: Flip Kit Questions.

if you carry loads, yes. you will have to remove the bump stops and their mounts

Re: Flip Kit Questions.

That looks like a good amount of room. As was stated, a big factor of clearance has to do with the # your leaf pack as well.

Thing is though, atleast with my truck, that clearance is sufficient for an empty bed or hauling around a motorcycle and gear. Every now and then though, atleast with me, something comes up and I have to haul a yard of mulch or something. That's when I don't want a suspension modification not allowing me to use my truck as a truck. So, if I do decide to go with a flip kit instead of shackles/hangers, I will install a small C-Notch.

It was night and day but that was because my truck had no sway bar

Re: Flip Kit Questions.

ok guys thanks alot.

i think i would rather do shackles and hangers to drop it 4" because 5" seems like too much for me but im not sure until i get the wheels. i will be running 20"s.

thanks for your input.

Re: Flip Kit Questions.

You will likely regret a shackle/hanger drop. S/H drops really don't allow you to lower it more unless you want to install drop leafs, or take out the S/H all together and go with a flip. Just about everyone who does a S/H drop usually want to go lower once installed...including myself. Do a flip, and be done with it. If you want more, then install drop shackles.

Re: Flip Kit Questions.

i want to rear fenders slightly above or level with the very top of the tire. I guess its one of those things where you just have to buy the wheels and tires and see where to go from there.

thanks
