Custom center console

I need some ideas for a custom center console for my truck. Running a shifter with stock bench seat. Thanks

Re: Custom center console

I saw one a while back that I really liked, I will try to find a picture for you. It dropped down off the bottom of the dash a couple inches then turned and brought it back to the bench. It had a 2 cup holders with a small pocket with door between the cup holders and seat. I'm sure you could fit a shifter where the pocket was... I will search for a picture for you.

Re: Custom center console

Haha, I believe that's where the guy got it. It looked almost identical to this one but with 2 cupholders and a cut-out for the tray. Sorry I can't find the pic of it in the truck....

Re: Custom center console

follow my build thread..I'm doing one for my truck...if you look back though some of the pics you'll see tht I had a bench...I'm now going to buckets but all you would have to do is stop it at the seat.....if you want I can snap a couple pics of the sides ( from the old console) so you can use them for a template for under the dash..I have A/C not sure if that matters bt it took me a few pieces of cardboard....let me know because if your goig to follow I'll post the measurements too

Re: Custom center console

hey Monte heres todays progress on it...funny thing is I was going to talk to a buddy of mine and have him pop a mold..not sure ther would be any demand for it..this will hold my 10" sub and two 5 1/2" in the sides..not sure if you can see it in the pics but I cut a piece of aluminum duct to go over the center heater vent and it exits out the sides of the console

sorry I can't upload pics not sure whats going on??

Re: Custom center console

I think that once the doors are done and the kick panels are made up it will come into it nicely the seats need some cleaning too..saw dust and dirt..I also have new headliner material and hope to do the dash pad in black

I will say it has made the cab very roomy with the seating attitude I wanted..it should be good for a few laps at the track and on the long hauls too

In case your wundering In have aboutn 15 hours and $100 into it

Re: Custom center console

Check page 4 of my build thread (link below in my signature)... I did something similar to Hottrucks but with a bench seat. I have a column shift so the console has cup holders and switches where your shifter would go but it should give you some more ideas.

Re: Custom center console

C 10 if you look back a few pics you can see that this console was suppose to get cup holders I drew them inon the wood frame but never made it to the bone yard to find something that I could snap in...also keep in mind that in the bottom of that console is a 10" sub woofer and a 600 watt amp I was worried about getting the volume of air for the speaker but after building the console I figured out that from the floor of the armrest tto the back I could slide the front of the speaker box up till I got the volume it was close Packing it all under the console

Re: Custom center console

I'm going to build a similar console out of oak and just finish it with polyurethane.

Re: Custom center console

I just finished this one today. The main box is plywood covered in vinyl and the removable tray is mahogany.
