driveshaft question
I want to convert my 69 SWB 2 piece driveshaft into a 1 piece. How do I measure to get the right length? Do I slip the yoke in 1/2 way so I still have some travel when the truck drives? Thanks for any help.

Yes,then measure from the center of the u-joint to the center line of the u-joint cap at the rear yoke.

If you have a short shaft TH350 hooked up to a small block then you'll need a shaft that is 4 foot 10 inches.
That's what mine is. 69 SWB GMC 350/th350. |

Slide the slip yolk in the trans till it bottoms.....then pull it back 3/4 to 1", & measure C to C on the caps for the lenght on the shaft. You want as much spline buried as you can get, but just enough room for a little travel & not bottom on the trans shaft. Good luck, crazyL
