Upper and lower molding

I've found some info on search, but can I get some feedback on removal of the old upper and lower molding and installation of the new. What vendor carries the best brand and is everything included in the 'kit' that I need? I've seen prices from $499 to over $800, whats the deal...

Wes has a section on his site how to remove old trim.

I have some misc NOS trim pieces in Black and Woodgrain, but not a complete kit.
