Opinions needed, cut or buy?

So I had to sell my daily driver since I have been out of work for about a year. I am going to start my 68 SWB project and one of the many things I need to get is a left bed side where it got hit in the rear. So since I have more time than money should I buy a decent long bed on CL for $100-200 and chop up a bed side of a long bed, or spend the $500+ for a aftermarket bed side?

Good to hear you are back to work. I might go the route of chopping a long bed.

Where would be the best place to get a decent deal on a new bedside?

I would watch craigslist for a used one if you are really tight on money...or put out a wanted...there is enough out there you should be able to find something for cheap...maybe even free! There might even be a board member around that could help you out. I know of some for a decent price but it would be a long trip for you!

Honestly, if you had a line on a SWB bed or side it would be worth the trip.

I am afraid of that, but I am thinking it is the better choice money wise.

I would love find a used OEM bed side but I am sure it would be close to impossible to find one for around $200. Do you have a source for one?
