stereo gurus please help

Truck 2000 S 10 Pickup
Radio JVC KD HD R20

I bought this kit on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

the instructions on the guys website and ebay auction say to connect the wires as they are color coded.

The wiring kit on the radio has a blue wire that is for the power antenna and or other equipmen of which there is none.
The wiring harness from the stereo guy on ebay has a blue wire too. Im going to tape that off and not use it.

the wiring harness from Ebay has two orange wires that do not connect to the radio I have. What i want to know is what to dow this them... tape em off and leave em hang?
Lastly before i plug this stupid thing in are these wiring things legit? or will they cause me to fry the radio?
TIA

Re: stereo gurus please help

one more stupid question.. in the speaker set of wires all the ones with the black stripe run along the bottom the ones without striped run up top.. is it safe to assume the green radio wire on the bottom wire is the correct for the one on the ebay harness with the green stripe?

Re: stereo gurus please help

I just looked at the pdf for the wiring from your new radio, the blue wire from that can be used for an antennae like you said, or can be used for amp turn on (if you are using aftermarket amp(s). The orange wire(s) from the adapter harness are more than likely for illumination, phone mute, or the like. I dont have the diagram for the adapter harness, but I'm sure you will be fine not using them. As long as the adapter harness has a 12v constant, 12v switched power, and ground you will be fine. These kits work really well and keep things simple. If you have the diagram for the harness, post it up if you are concerned and I will walk ya through it.

Not necissarily, I need to see that adapter diagram, chances are its on the plastic bag the harness came in..

Re: stereo gurus please help

the only wiring thing i got was the thing from ebay which is on the link above.. Quoted from the page..
The harness will save you time and aggreavation. To use it simply unplug your factory radio from the harness in the dash. On the aftermarket radio wire this in by matching up the colors. Our harness meets EIA color codes to take out the guess work. Then simply plug the aftermarket radio back in to the factory plug in the vechile. No cut wires, if you sell your vechile simply unplug the aftermarket radio and replug in the factory radio.

Re: stereo gurus please help

You gonna need a bluetooth adapter from JVC to hook to the radio for that, the adapter harness has no bearing on that..

Re: stereo gurus please help

Nice glad to hear that it all worked out. I just got done putting a new Pioneer deck in my truck with the HD Radio really like it. Had to put in a sub as well just a ported 12" and 600 watt kenwood amp sounds good though

Re: stereo gurus please help

trust us you'll be replacing the components in teh near future, you'll have a nice fancy JVC deck and "hifi" speakers once the paper cones wear out
but! this can be done for UNDER 200 smackaroos!

Just buy direct fit replacements and dont go nuts.

p.s. i dont buy stereo kits from ebay i use www.crutchfield.com
there stuff is reputable and if it's wrong they'll replace it.. i have not had any issues with them, OR you can use your local best buy their stuff is typically 5 bucks more.. but they do have sales =-)

OR if you wanna be really fancy, use the crutchfield "what fits my ride" menu, find speakers you like, the cross reference through google for a cheaper deal from whomever might have it on sale =-)
