Concern with Board Vendor mbgmike!!!

Has anyone had any dealings with the author of this thread, a registered site vendor mamed mbgmike. I ordered a grill from him on Feb.12th and paid for it with my credit card. I thought the shippiing price was a little high as he is in Texas and I am having it shipped to Nevada and told Mike I needed it there by March 5th and he said " No problem". He said I'd get a tracking number emailed to me within a day or two. Well by Wednesday the 17th ( almost a week later), still no tracking number so I called and then found out ( which bothered me as it wasn't disclosed when I made the purchase) that the grill was being shipped from the warehouse in Virginia, not Texas. ( now I know why the shipping seemed kind of high ) and he'd call me back but didnt but he sent am email on the 18th saying I'd get my tracking number. Well today is Monday the 22nd and still no tracking number. I called today about 2:00pm and talked to the young lady ( Jennifer) who told me Mike would call me when he got it in about a half hour. Well 4 hours later I had to leave for work and no call or email. Am I gonna have problems with this guy? The big issue for me and Mike knew that when I placed the order is that the grill had to be in Nevada by March 5th.

Your target date is almost 2 weeks away! Mike seems like a stand up guy on here although I never dealt with him!

mike is a great guy. i was in his shop talking to him today. i bought a fender and a grill outer.

in fact the first ever sales guy who talked me out of buying something from him telling me that my grill inner was totally fixable

I know the target date is two weeks away but I doo't trust UPS, Fed Ex et al with geting goods deliverd as promised as it happened to me already once that something ws supposed to be in North Dakota by a certain date and when I got there it hadn't been delivered so I went home without it and UPS sent it back to the vendor who wouldn't refund my money after he guarantedd it would be there by the target date. So I paid for something I didnt get, that si why I'm a little paranoid with shipping dates !!

Your order has shipped today. 2/23/10. I sent a tracking number to you. The shipping was actually over $150.00 NOT the $75.00 we charged you. We ate half of it to help out on the cost. We can send the invoice if you want. The box is 77" x 12" x 19" which puts it in a higher cost shipping class. We could have shipped up to 109 pounds.Also the town you wanted it shipped to is a remote town and their was an extra charge for that as well.The grille does not weigh much its just the box size. I apologize for the delay we had some problems here, we do usually get parts out quicker. Sorry we did not inform you it was coming from the Va location. It did not matter much on the cost. I do have faith in most shippers as we have very little problem but yes they do mess up at times. Overall they do a good job. If you don't like the grille we give 100% refunds and pay return shipping back. Your scheduled delivery it the 2'nd of March. If you have any problems don't feel hesitant to call 800-398-0537 or my cell at 832-452-2865.

Very cool. It would be nice had the OP updated the post as well. Not to rant, but folks are quick to complain (justifiably most times) but rarely take the time to update the posts. Especially when a vendor steps up to the plate and fixes things.

Sounds like I'm being made out to be the bad guy here when all I had was a concern stemmming from the same type of scenario with another vendor, and not a board vendor. It was a bad experience when I needed something shipped to a location by a certain date and the good didnt arrive on time and i ended up with no goods and no refund. Mikes package was delivered on time but I didnt pick it up for a few days. On the original thread from Mike titled "Oem Grills" I did reply when the package arrived and thanked him for his cooperation. As far as Mike eating 75.00 on the shipping cost that was totally his doing. I gave Mike the shipping address and asked for a shipping quote and paid what was quoted. If he decided to eat half the shipping cost that was totally Mikes decision and I think it should not have been mentioned on the thread.

I told you I can give you a copy of the billing. We had no choice , we miscalculated the shipping cost to you and we were wrong. I could not ask you for more shipping I was not tooting my own horn. I would really like to refund your money NOW on this since it has turned into an Issue with you. I don't need to toot my own horn. You got the part on time so what is the issue with you now? I think we will drop all Canadian Sales it is too much trouble any way .We tried to please and save you money.

This was dead issue for me until Liz kinda ticked me off when she mentioned that I was quick to complain but not quick to let everyone know that everything worked out.

On the thread you started "OEM GRILLS " I did reply March 4th.

I was in a retail business for a lot of years and if I made a mistake on a quote or price, I sold the item for what I said and sucked it up without letting the customer know so they wouldn't feel that I did them a favor selling it to them as I felt when you mentioned on the threasd that you ate 75.00 of the shipping cost.

I do not need expect or want a refund and I am very happy with the product. I paid you in American funds, you shipped the grill within the USA so why are you not going to ship to Canadians anymore. If I lived in the USA would you say you wouldn't ship within the USA anymore?


Seeing I started this thread if possible I would like the moderators to cancel it. I too, do not like the way this has gone !!!

Sorry if the truth "ticked you off" It is the way it goes in threads 90% of the time. Folks are quick to complain, then never reply when the issue is resolved. If that bothers you so much to read, then perhaps you should ask yourself why?

I will not delete this thread, as it shows that he stepped up to the plate and took care of an issue. If it turned the wrong way, again.. feel free to read back and ask yourself why. Its not always the other guys fault.
