Any of you guys running a newer 4x4 IFS frame?

Any of you guys running a newer 4x4 Independant Front Suspension frame with your older bodies?
Did you guys run into any problems besides body mounts?
any problems with the torsion bar suspension?

Thanks,
Bryan

Thinking wheelbase measurements would come into play...?
Doubt you'd find a newer frame that short, dunno really.

Frame width, track width, tunnel dimension's, etc.

Not too worried about having to cut the frame length, width might be a problem unless i can get some wheels with different backspacing.
Trying to think how to make it ride a lot better, and have better brakes to boot.

Both can be accomplished with what you already have & adding some new parts.

Suspension can be drastically improved by after-markets springs & shocks.

There's a fantastic thread on here about doing a 1ton brake booster swap, they'll rival most late model set ups too.

late model parts there is more swap then fixing what you got plus it would be cheeper and easyier to fix what you got then swaping and fab work

Re: Any of you guys running a newer 4x4 IFS frame?

Several years back, there was a longbed truck built with newer IFS. It also had the more modern dash in the cab. I don't think I saved any pictures since it wasn't a Blazer.

Re: Any of you guys running a newer 4x4 IFS frame?

I have a 72 blazer 4x4 I want to update, I just picked up a 99 tahoe 4x4 rolling chassis , 3.73 gears, 350 , engine auto trans with electric shift transfer case , pretty sure Im gonna make it work , cause I have a plasma cutter and wire welder. I get some pics and measurments up later this week. and tell the story of how I picked up the blazer.
